I prefer talking in terms of 'an underlying feel' instead of specific genres. Everything is welcome, as long as I like it enough. But in practice: expect lots of funky drums, grooves, riffs, horns, bleeps, chords and exotic instruments. The entire composition is way more important to me than the lyrics.
And what's the right 'underlying feel'?
Quite natural, dynamic, lacking obvious loudness wars (also if it's 100 % electronic). No forced hipness, and often quite light-hearted. There will always be exceptions, btw, with an undefinable 'x-factor'.
To add or not to add?
If I like something clearly above average, it's welcome here. The stuff I could give 4 or 5 stars out of 5. For this site, 3 1/2 stars is a doubt case (although in fact still very good).
About the year of release/on which page you can find the tracks I add:
I see the 'oldest' year of release I can find, after searching Discogs and maybe other sources, as right. Also if it became a hit one/two/more years later. I'm very consequent when it comes to that, very clear.
